The Polestar 2 shares several design components with the Volvo XC40, boasts a sleek and minimalist design and achieves an estimated range of up to 434km on a single charge.

How Does The Mustang Mach-E Compare?

If you’re looking for a sporty drive, the Mustang Mach E pulls ahead.

If you’re looking for an electric vehicle that combines sportiness with customization, the Mustang Mach-E is a great choice. With its various trim levels, you can choose the level of performance and features that suit your driving style. The Select trim offers a more economical option with RWD as standard and impressive range, making it a worthy competitor to the Polestar 2. However, the Mach-E’s true strength lies in its ability to be fully customized to create a fun and sporty driving experience.

The Polestar 2 offers a Performance Pack that includes upgraded brakes, suspension, a software upgrade, and special color seatbelts, along with different wheels. However, the Mach-E offers similar options and more, with a much sportier driving experience, making it a highly attractive vehicle for those seeking customization and performance. If you’re looking for a thrilling ride with plenty of customization options, the Mustang Mach-E is definitely worth considering.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla is often labelled as the pioneer of the electric car industry and the main influence in the progression of this rapidly expanding market. The Model Y is the latest of the now four Tesla Models to choose from, offering a blend of both Sedan and SUV characteristics.

Tesla offers limited options for dynamic driving, as the models have minimal customization and are available in only two trim levels: Long Range and Performance. Despite not having the same sporty features as some competitors, the Long Range model boasts an impressive estimated range of 531km.

Change 2 words: The Tesla Model Y Performance maintains impressive stats despite the modifications made to increase its performance. It gets approximately 488km of range with a 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. This model features unique wheels, upgraded brakes, lowered suspension, and a few other minor tweaks that enhance its performance capabilities.

How Does The Mustang Mach-E Compare?

The Mustang Mach-E offers a lot more.

As you may know, Teslas are known for their minimalism. They offer very limited customization options and have stripped-down interiors with a single center screen controlling almost every function. However, some may feel that the Tesla Model Y lacks a certain level of refinement. This is where the Mach-E excels, offering a more polished interior with multiple screens, physical buttons, and switches.

Tesla has put emphasis on their technology and may have overlooked some aspects of car manufacturing. This has led to quality control issues in the Tesla lineup, such as paint defects and panel gaps, as well as wait times for parts. The Mustang Mach-E, built by Ford, does not have these issues, as Ford has the necessary infrastructure, experience, and passion for car production. Mach-E owners will enjoy excellent build quality and materials, as well as proprietary technology similar to Tesla’s, including BlueCruise.

KIA EV6

At the starting price point, the KIA EV6 is a relatively new entrant into the EV market and is up against some fierce competition.. The KIA EV6 boasts a very unique design, something only an EV could pull off. This might be seen as a large deciding factor when deciding which EV might interest you.

Despite being a budget brand, KIA has always focused on tech in their vehicles.. The Base Trim comes standard with features such as Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Follow Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Heated Front Seats and so much more. Being an electric vehicle, you can expect the tech to be fairly impressive.

The KIA EV6 offers many different configurations based on the drivetrain, whether you want RWD or AWD, a longer-range battery, more power or sporty handling.. The Mach-E is a great comparison to this as they have similar options in terms of trim levels regarding battery and drivetrain.

How Does The Mustang Mach-E Compare?

It’s missing the excitement.

KIA has been around for a long time, but can you point out any genuinely exciting vehicles? We didn’t think so. The Mustang Mach-E has been designed from the ground up to evoke a sense of passion and excitement in each drive, whether you choose the Select or the GT Performance Edition. The Mustang Mach-E can be equipped with everything the KIA EV6 offers but in a superior package. The Mach-E Premium trim provides a more refined and relaxed commute compared to the KIA EV6’s comparable trim. You’ll likely find that once you get in a KIA EV6, you will quickly forget what you just spent $75,000 on. The Mach-E won’t allow that to happen.

The KIA EV6 follows the traditional electric vehicle trends in terms of looks, by creating an overly “futuristic” design that will age quite quickly. For some reason, all the electric vehicle manufacturers find it beneficial to push the boundaries of what a vehicle should look like and stray as far away as possible from what the consumers are looking for. When you get into the Mustang Mach-E, you’ll feel the history behind its unique and well-known design. Something to note about the Mach-E is that you have a host of ever-changing, exclusive colour options which can’t be said about the competition.

Hyundai Ioniq5

Hyundai has taken its shot at breaking into the all-EV market segment, offering the Ioniq5. This is an unconventional attempt at creating a desirable piece of tech. Out of all the competition, this is the greatest outlier in terms of design.

The Ioniq5 has most of the common tech found in modern cars, but is missing a few key things some may have come to like over the last 5 years. You may be in search of Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but you’ll have to look elsewhere if that matters to you.

The Hyundai Ioniq5 has ample interior room and has a unique design called the Universal Island. This is a movable center console that can slide to accommodate different seating arrangements and create more space. This gives the impression that the Ioniq5 has more space than it actually does.

How Does The Mustang Mach-E Compare?

What’s with the styling?

The Hyundai Ioniq5 is known for its unique and trendy looks, reminiscent of a 1980s sci-fi film or arcade game. You can check out images online if you need a refresher on its distinctive design that proudly proclaims “I’m an electric car”. While some people may appreciate its styling, others may find it too flashy. On the other hand, the Mustang Mach-E draws much of its inspiration from the Mustang, as its name suggests, and incorporates those design elements throughout the vehicle. The Mach-E doesn’t need to boast about its futuristic appeal because it can demonstrate that on its first drive.

Being that Hyundai typically produces budget-friendly vehicles, this can be noticed when entering the cabin. While you can spec it in a lighter color to make it feel quite airy, it still feels low-cost. The screens are relatively small and surrounded by a cheap white plastic bezel. The interior feels unfinished without a center console or transmission hump, giving the impression of a work van or truck. In contrast, the Mustang Mach-E’s interior feels much more put together and finished, with a larger center screen, proper console with a drive selector, wireless charger, cupholders, and more.

CAR AND DRIVER

“Tesla-rivalling acceleration, stylish on the inside and out, competitive range. The Mustang Mach-E excels at being an electric SUV.”

Final Thoughts

The Mustang Mach-E is an impressive, high-performing electric SUV, regardless of the trim level you choose. It boasts a competitive range across all categories, exceptional handling, and the option for impressive power. As evidenced in this review, the competition aims to attract a distinct EV buyer with their own take on electric vehicles. The Mustang Mach-E leverages racing history, dynamic design, and performance enhancements to surpass the competition in terms of driving experience. It’s worth noting that during this EV trend, it’s essential to recognize that all-electric vehicles may feel fast due to their nature, but they may struggle with even the slightest cornering or, perhaps, a lane change.

The Mustang Mach-E takes a practical approach to design, adding and removing elements only as needed. The Mach-E stands out in a unique manner compared to other electric SUVs in this category. It doesn’t depend on flashy triangles on fenders or unnecessary shapes down the side. Instead, it relies on sculpted body lines and graceful sweeping panels for a genuine upgrade. While some may think that the Mach-E lacks a futuristic appearance, if you prefer to avoid a vehicle that quickly becomes outdated, then perhaps the competition is for you.
